On August 18th, 2017 our sweet son was born. As a photographer I believe that images are powerful story tellers so I will let them do most of the talking.
Birth is a miraculous event and one of the most incredible experiences.
During my pregnancy my husband and I decided to have a home birth. That decision required me to leave the OB practice that I had previously used for my first pregnancy. It was a very hard decision because my midwife there was very dear friend who had not only delivered my daughter but several of my siblings. Your midwife is so much more than a caregiver...she becomes one of your deepest and most meaningful relationships. She is the one who lovingly helps and cares for you through the long months of pregnancy, she takes time to answer your emotional and sometimes ridiculous questions at all hours of the day and night, she rides the roller coaster of emotions with you, she rejoices with you and sometimes cries with you, she holds your hand while you endure the pains of labor and then....then, she catches your baby.
My homebirth experience was amazing and I am so thankful that God brought Carlene into my life. She worked so hard to ensure that I would have the best birth possible and she was so strong for me during the fast and furious birth of our son.
I feel so honored and blessed to know two of the greatest baby catchers of all time.... Thank you for all you did to walk with us during the birth of our children.
Jeri & Carlene, you are gifts and I love you both.
